Samsung caused a stir at CES this year, announcing a list of new TVs with its new mini LED technology in its Neo QLED TVs and deepening its emissive micro LED display technology that will take OLED in years to come. To some people, however, the real star of the Samsung 2021 TV lineup doesn’t look like a TV at all. The Frame – a TV designed to look like a framed portrait – is undergoing a restoration in 2021, and fans of this imaginative TV couldn’t be more excited.
The biggest change to this year’s Iteration of The Frame is in the frame itself (i.e. the bezel), which Samsung has managed to cut down a bit – it’s now 46% thinner than previous versions and looks more like a framed portrait as a result.

Samsung offers removable bezels in five different color variations, so fans of The Frame can choose how they want to present their TV to the world. In addition, these colors come in two new styles, “Modern” and “Beveled”, which allows owners to better blend The Frame into its surroundings.
While size and pricing information remains scarce, it’s worth noting that the 2020 version of The Frame was (and still is) available in six sizes: 32in, 43in, 50in, 55in, 65in, and 75 inches. We expect the brand new version to feature 4K resolution, quantum dots, and a relatively high price tag due to the high nature of the TV design.
It might not be the TV for everyone, but The Frame has a bit of a cult following among people who won’t settle for a garden variety TV in their living room or bedroom. Perhaps its continued success will inspire more companies to approach TV design with more care and creativity.
