Samsung may be preparing a high-end tablet to compete with the iPad Pro – BGR

Recently, a large part of the Samsung coverage is related to its smartphone business, and in particular its experiences in this area. We're talking about things like the Galaxy Fold, supposed to herald a new era in smartphone design with its collapsible form factor, but that ended up being so badly designed that the launch had to be canceled and postponed indefinitely.

Meanwhile, as we reported a few days ago, Samsung continues to progress and is by no means a game to experiment with with new smartphone packages, as evidenced by this roll-up design patent.

While the company's smartphone ambitions do not attract excessive attention, it should also be remembered that the hardware sector of the consumer electronics giant covers far more than just phones. For example, Samsung continues to devote its attention and resources to deploying new tablet variants, a new brand suggesting that the company may be preparing a new Galaxy Tab Active tablet for business users.

Obviously, iPads dominate in this category of devices, the cachet and affinity of the Apple brand are not comparable to those of Samsung. Nevertheless, it seems that the company is about to launch soon a "Tab Active Pro", based on a trademark for this name on June 13 at the Office of Intellectual Property of the European Union .

As stated by the Dutch technology news blog LetsGoDigital, which reported the filing of the brand, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab Active 2 in October 2017 for the benefit of business users. This new name "Tab Active Pro" would seem to refer to a more expensive and more powerful version of the upcoming tablet.

The site also states that, although the name "Galaxy" is not included in the brand, it is more than likely that it will be part of the Galaxy range. This is because all the tablets launched by Samsung in recent years include the nickname "Galaxy", no matter whether Samsung actually includes it or not in the name that marks it, for different devices.

In the meantime, there are no other details to report at the moment other than this deposit. We will have to wait to see what Samsung's plans are.
