The Samsung Galaxy S21 series offers three excellent flagship phones, with the barrier of entry reduced to $ 800, while the high-end S21 Ultra in particular is getting several major upgrades.
You would think the reduced price across the board would lead to more sales, but Elec Samsung reports that Samsung has established a rather conservative estimate of shipments in 2021. The Korean media outlet claims that Samsung estimates it will ship 26 million Galaxy S21 series devices this year.
Interestingly, the outlet notes that the Galaxy S20 series sold so much in 2020, adding that this figure was considered disappointing by Samsung. He reportedly made this estimate for the S21 series due to the effects of COVID-19 on physical stores and its position in the premium segment.
The base Galaxy S21 is expected to account for 10 million shipments (40%), while the Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Ultra could account for eight million shipments each (30% each). Samsung’s estimate for Ultra model shipments is believed to have increased over last year’s S20 Ultra estimate, as it apparently underestimated demand for the 2020 Ultra model.
