Samsung stuns some Galaxy S20 + 5G users with timing of software update

Some Samsung Galaxy S20 + users in Germany and UK are probably wondering how they sped up November so quickly. You see, some handset units in those countries are getting a firmware version update G98xxXXU5ZTKA which includes the December Android security patches two weeks ahead of schedule. The update also comes with some minor UI tweaks and the extermination of some bugs. The update is being released to Galaxy S20 + phones registered in One UI 3.0 beta and weighs in at 271.61MB.
News of the update was shared on Twitter by a subscriber with the handle of @umarharoon. Previously, Samsung has said it will have One UI 3.0 ready to install on all Galaxy S20 models before the end of this year. And while Sammy is working hard to meet this deadline, we should note that he only recently released the November 2020 security patch on some devices. Not bad for a manufacturer who has never been known for their timely updates.

A 3.0 UI beta tester in other countries is also expected to receive the same update soon. The One UI interface was developed by Samsung for devices with large screens that some users cannot reach at the top. As a result, most of the UI elements are found near the bottom middle of the screen; this way calisthenics is not necessary for a user to cover most of the screen.
