Samsung announced Wednesday the availability of its Galaxy Fold smartphone. The smartphone was originally scheduled to be launched earlier this year, but was delayed in April as it needed to be redesigned to improve its reliability. As expected, the phone will be available in the US in October at previously reported prices.
Presented at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in February, the Samsung Galaxy Fold was to be launched in April. When evaluating the device by the press, it was discovered that its hinge needed reinforcements, while the top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display needed to be redesigned to make it appear that it was part of the phone, not a protective film. .
With all the improvements made at the end of July, the Samsung announced that the Galaxy Fold would be available in September. On Wednesday, the company announced that the foldable smartphone would be available next month, which means October.
Once sold at retail and without a contract, the Samsung Galaxy Fold will cost 1980 USD in the United States, 1799 GBP in the United Kingdom and 2000 EUR in the euro area.
