Samsung Galaxy is now the exclusive mobile partner of Twitch Rivals, a one-year deal that will see companies collaborate on exclusive events and Twitch content.

The partnership ticks many boxes for Samsung. On the one hand, it helps to strengthen the Samsung Galaxy product line and more specifically its suite of 5G compatible mobile devices. Second, it’s a smart move for a maker of screens and mobile devices at a time in history when more people play than ever before. Exploiting Twitch’s streamer network at a time when he saw a audience explosion certainly doesn’t hurt at all.

Twitch Rivals and Samsung will partner up with a number of mobile challenges, promoting mobile gaming superstars and tournaments as part of a regular series called Mobile Mondays presented by Samsung that will hand out cash prizes. Clearly, Samsung has managed to sweeten the pot for Galaxy and Twitch users with “added benefits.” While it’s unclear what these extra perks will entail, it’s certainly a smart way to sell some phones.

“Samsung’s cutting-edge mobile gaming devices will allow gamers not only to stream their favorite Twitch Rivals content, but also to fully participate in the unparalleled chat and interactivity that powers the Twitch community,” said Lou Garate, Global Manager sponsorship sales at Twitch. in a report. “As live streaming and esports continue to grow exponentially, we look forward to working with Samsung to help engaged and dedicated gamers access their Twitch Rivals content whenever and wherever they want.”

Samsung and Twitch launch partnership with live stream of Twitch Rivals at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday before the big Galaxy unpacked event Thursday. The Galaxy Unpacked event will be streaming on – you guessed it – the Twitch platform starting at 10 a.m.ET.
