Samsung’s switch to Wear OS with the Galaxy Watch 4 brings a lot of benefits, and most important of all is access to the wide variety of apps available compared to the Tizen-based Samsung watch platform. Samsung has also transferred some of its own existing Tizen watch apps to Wear OS, and it is now bringing its browser app to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.
As you would expect, the watch version of Samsung Internet is not as impressive as the phone version. Perhaps the main downside is that it loads desktop versions of most websites, making it difficult to navigate on the small screen.
Still, Samsung tries to make things easier with gestures: you can swipe from the edge of the screen to see the edges of a site, for example. You can also use the zoom mode toggle to make text on sites a bit bigger, although that doesn’t really make a big difference.
But hey, the app is there on the watch if you want it, and it can be great for a quick Google search if you don’t have your phone handy (or you can watch a YouTube video if you like. torturing your eyes).
To download Samsung Internet to your Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, you can either search for it in the Play Store app on the watch or open the Samsung Internet Play Store page on your phone, tap the arrow next to Available on more devices, and click the install button to download it to the watch.
If Samsung Internet isn’t on your phone yet, find out what you’re missing! From the built-in ad blocker to smart privacy features, there are plenty of features that make Samsung Internet one of the best mobile browsers.
