Samsung's Galaxy Fold Could Not Appear Before Note 10

It's not easy to launch a collapsible phone in 2019, as Samsung is quickly discovering it: the latest Asian reports suggest that its innovative Galaxy Fold handset will not be marketed until the month of August.

This means that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 may be out and available for purchase before the foldable handset that we saw for the first time having been tested in February.

The bad news for fans of folding phones comes from the Korea Herald, which claims that Samsung itself has denied that the phone will appear in July (prediction based on comments from a Samsung Electronics official).

Apparently, "little progress" seems to have been made in sorting the folding hinge of the device, which caused many failures in the first control units.

The game of waiting

The launch date in the United States was set for April 24, but it came and went after the first units to get into people's hands began to suffer from sustainability issues.

Samsung then postponed the official sale date to a later date – we are still waiting to know when. The pre-orders for the phone have been canceled in the meantime.

The Galaxy Fold is not the only collapsible handset to have problems: Huawei has decided to postpone the launch of its foldable Mate X, evoking concerns about the longevity of the handset.

While mastering the technology is obviously a huge technical challenge, but hopefully the Galaxy Fold and Mate X will be made available to consumers for too long.
