If you were a fan of the Galaxy Note the size of a Samsung phablet, you can rest easy knowing at least its companion stylus will remain available for other devices. Samsung’s most tablet-like phone might not make an appearance this summer at the company’s next Unpacked event, but a FCC deposit indicates that his best prop will be.

The S Pen Pro, which Samsung announced earlier this year, is ostensibly a stylus-like variant of the S Pen and not a small stylus that attaches to the side of a device. The S Pen Pro should work with unannounced ones Galaxy z fold 3, which would be the next model in Samsung’s foldable lineup.

The FCC listing includes a copy of what is likely the outer label of the S Pen Pro. This indicates that the stylus will be compatible with any Samsung smartphone, tablet, or PC that already supports the S Pen. Air Actions, which let you wave the stylus like a wand to take photos and program other shortcuts, will only be available on devices that support One UI 3.1 or later.

Samsung aims to grow using its most powerful weapon: the peripheral. The ability to buy the stylus in the store and making it work with any Samsung device gives the company’s products more appeal, especially for Android users. For comparison, Google’s current stylus-supported products are either third-party or via a convertible laptop through its Chrome OS platform. And Apple’s stylus only works with iPads, not iPhones.

It’s also not surprising that this coincides with the launch of Samsung’s next foldable product. The company was one of the first in the United States to bring foldable smartphones to an accessible level for consumers. However, they still have to sell the rest of us on utilities. Why not sell an accessory alongside an ideal use case? The Galaxy Z Fold is, after all, a smartphone that turns into a tablet. Essentially, it’s about merging the Galaxy Note smartphone and a Galaxy Tab S tablet.

Samsung did no secret of its plans to expand S Pen support outside of the Note smartphone. We expect to find out more at the next Unpacked event. The date was not announced, although there were rumors that it would take place on August 11. We expect to see at least one new smartphone from Samsung, along with more details on how the company will build on Google. wear bone smartwatch platform with its twist. We could see improved props like Galaxy buds and maybe even a new tablet to demonstrate the new S Pen Pro.
