After months of leaks and rumors, Samsung has officially announced that his next Unpacked event will take place virtually on Wednesday, August 11 to 10 a.m. AND / 7 am TP.

Invitations for the upcoming Unpacked event were sent to the media today, and while Samsung hasn’t specifically mentioned any of the devices it plans to announce, between recent leaks and a slogan for the event that reads like “Get Ready to Unveil,” at least one of Samsung’s big talking points will be its next-gen foldables.

Based on recent leaks, we expect Samsung’s next two flagship foldables to be the Galaxy z fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Z Fold 3 would have sport a large foldable screen measuring 7.6 inches in diameter and functionality built-in stylus support, which means it will be is for high-end power users looking for something that is a hybrid between a tablet and a traditional big screen phone. Meanwhile, with its smaller dimensions (and presumably lower price tag), the Z Flip 3 seems to be aimed more at mainstream consumers looking for something a little more compact in an old-fashioned flip phone design, but with cutting edge specs.

The inclusion of stylus support on the Z Fold3 would mark a significant improvement over previous Galaxy Folds, as it suggests that Samsung has created a new type of flexible display that can withstand repeated impacts from a stylus. This is because even if the previous one Galaxy z fold and Z Flip The devices featured a layer of what Samsung calls “ultrafine glass,” nowhere that glass offered the same kind of durability as that of a traditional smartphone, with users being able to dent these flexible displays with just their fingernails.

However, by combining increased durability with lower price rumors for the Z Fold3 and Z Flip 3, Samsung could finally signal that its foldable devices are finally ready for prime-time use.

Regarding the Galaxy Watch 4, Samsung’s next smartwatch represents a potential major departure from previous Galaxy watches as it will run the new one A user interface watch, which is based on Google’s Wear OS instead of Samsung’s Tizen OS. While retaining a circular screen and handy side buttons, the Galaxy Watch 4 should be available in three sizes and will include updated health tracking, such as advanced measurements for sleep, VO2 Max, Spo2, continuous heart rate monitoring, etc.

Finally, the fourth gadget that we expect to see at Samsung Unpacked is the Galaxy buds 2, which is rumored to replace the original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds +, which will come with some sort of ANC built in and cost around $ 100.

However, the only device we don’t expect to see is a new Galaxy Note, which has long been said to skip a generation, in part because of the lack of available components caused by the current global chip crisis.

Notably, while Samsung has yet to reveal any information about its upcoming devices, Samsung today announced a reservation system for its upcoming flagships that offer additional perks, a discount on Samsung Care + and increased trade-in credit for anyone looking to pre-order new gadgets ahead of their official debut.

Either way, it looks like we’ll have to wait until August 11 to get a real look at everything Samsung has in store for its next big gadget showcase, so until then stay tuned for more. updates on Gizmodo.com.
