SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – The San Diego County community is on Saturday to help the victims of the shooting in the Poway synagogue.
A vigil was scheduled at 19 hours. at the Rancho Bernardo Community Church, 17010 Pomerado Road.
People also laid flowers on the street outside the Chabad Community Center, mourning the death of an innocent woman.
Bishop Robert W. McElroy, a Catholic bishop in San Diego, asked all priests of the diocese to pray during Sunday Mass for the victims of the shooting and the Jewish community.
"For the victims of the Chabad shooting and their families; for the Jewish community, our elder brothers in the faith, who are once again subject to the evil of anti-Semitic hatred and violence, this time in our own diocese; and for our world, so consumed by anger and divisions, that we might understand that the gift of peace that you give in today's Gospel commands us to love every man and woman of the human family; we pray to the Lord. "
The San Diego blood bank sent a supply of blood and O negative platelets to Palomar Hospital in Escondido, where the four victims were taken after the shooting.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families," said Michele Corbett, Vice President of Marketing for the San Diego Blood Bank. "Thanks to the blood donors, we had a stock in hand, but now we encourage others to make an appointment to donate this week to ensure the safety of the blood supply."
