She told KTVU-TV: "The NRA exists to spread misinformation and knowingly puts guns in the hands of those who would harm us and terrorize us."

She told the station that she had begun writing the resolution after the attack on the Gilroy Garlic Festival, in which an armed man had killed three people before killing himself.
