San Francisco police were looking for a man who hijacked a father’s SUV with his two toddlers inside on Saturday night.
Police said the victim left his money Honda Odyssey parked on the 2100 block of Jackson Street and left the engine running while he made a food delivery at 8:47 p.m. His two children – a boy from a year-old and a four-year-old girl – were in the vehicle when it was stolen, San Francisco police said.
Anyone who sees the Odyssey with the 7FPK543 license plate should call 911, police said.
The suspect is a male, around 5ft 10in, with black hair and brown eyes, around 20 to 30 years old, and should be considered armed and dangerous, California Highway Patrol said.
The children are Winnifred Fang, 3 feet tall and 35 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and Sean Fang, 2 feet 10 inches tall and 30 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Marin and Santa Clara counties shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, saying a kidnapping had taken place. The alert was issued on freeway signs, on cell phones in San Francisco and neighboring counties and through the emergency alert system, police said.
Shortly before midnight, San Francisco the police said they hadn’t found the SUV yet.
San Francisco Police Commander Raj Vaswani said on twitter that “all available police units” were looking for the vehicle on Saturday night, saying it was still “a fluid investigation in progress”.
Officers from the Police Department’s Motorcycle Units, Traffic Control Unit and Honda Dirt Bike Unit were deployed to assist with the investigation, police said. Motorcycle officers joined officers in marked patrol vehicles to search for the Odyssey and the children, police said.

Detectives from the Police Department’s Special Victims Unit are the lead investigators, Lazar said.
