Senator Bernie Sanders cut his head off a glass shower door on Friday morning and received seven stitches, his campaign announced.

But the 2020 candidate has received a "health check" and will participate in all the events of his campaign previously scheduled over the next two days.

Arianna Jones, a spokeswoman for Sanders, said "as a precaution, he went to a walk-in clinic" to have the cup checked.

"The Senator has proceeded to all of his scheduled events – joining a group of about 20 local clergy for breakfast this morning – and looks forward to participating in a roundtable with the South Carolinians this afternoon to discuss how we can provide high quality affordable health care at all., "she added.

Sanders, 77, who has traveled to several states since the announcement of his second presidential bid last month, held a rally in South Carolina yesterday. He plans to hold another rally in Nevada tomorrow.
