Bernie Sanders has separated from one of his deputy directors on the ground in Iowa, the campaign confirmed Saturday.

Kevin Lata joined the Vermont Senator's team in 2020 after holding several positions during his first participation at the White House. Lata said that he had left the countryside a few months ago. He now manages Margaret Good's Congress candidacy in Florida.

Lata's departure is the latest in a series of staff reshuffles in the first critical states of Iowa and New Hampshire. The political director of Sanders in Iowa and the senior advisor in New Hampshire no longer participate in the campaign. His former state director of New Hampshire has been reassigned to Massachusetts.

Some of Sanders' allies recently sounded the alarm, claiming that his campaign had been hampered by personality clashes and poor communication between state operations and the national headquarters. Expectations are high for Sanders in the first national and primary caucus: in 2016, Sanders reached one-third of her Iowa win percentage and beat Hillary Clinton by 22 percentage points in New Hampshire.

The Sanders campaign did not immediately provide more details on the departure.

After Sanders' defeat in 2016, Lata worked for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
