Sarah Ferguson has announced what she thinks her friend Princess Diana would have thought of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to step down as royals.
The Duchess of York made a special appearance on Australian radio station KIIS 1065 when asked to comment on the sons of the late Prince Harry and Prince William.
“I think they are exceptional,” said the 61-year-old man on Tuesday, quoted by the British magazine Independent.
“Diana would be very proud of her sons and I think they are great, great boys with great wives and fabulous children and so I think she would say, ‘YES!'” Said Ferguson.

When asked what Diana would have really thought of Harry’s explosive decision alongside his wife Meghan Markle, Ferguson didn’t think twice.
“I think what she would have been is very proud of very strong, standing boys,” she said. “They look a lot like her and I think she would be proud of that.”
Ferguson, who shared a close friendship with Diana, added that the princess would have loved to be a grandmother.
“Oh my God, can you imagine the grandma races we would have together?” Ferguson said, as quoted by the outlet. “Parties… I’d bounce her off the bouncy castle, that’s for sure.” Even though she passed me, she still passed me. She was like a gazelle. And of course, you know, her handyman laugh… what a beautiful woman. “

“And I’m glad we’re still talking about her and I’m glad that there is status for her and that we honor her,” she added.
Diana died in 1997 from injuries sustained in a car accident in Paris. She was 36 years old.
Markle, a former American actress, became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Harry, 36, in May 2018 at Windsor Castle. The couple welcomed a son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departures from royal duties began in 2020 over what they described as British media intrusions and racist attitudes towards the 40-year-old former ‘Suits’ star. The family now resides in the coastal town of Montecito, California.

After stepping down from royal duties, they gave Oprah Winfrey an explosive TV interview in March, in which the couple described painful comments about Archie’s skin color before he was born. The Duchess has spoken of the intense isolation she felt within the royal family which led her to consider suicide.
Buckingham Palace said the couple’s allegations of racism were “concerning” and would be dealt with in private.
On June 4, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The child is eighth to the British throne.
The name honors both Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname is Lilibet, and his late mother Diana.

Ferguson, who was married to Diana’s brother-in-law Prince Andrew from 1986 to 1996, recently wrote a landmark romance featuring the life and loves of her great-great-great-aunt.
His book, titled “Her Heart for a Compass”, is set in the Victorian era and talks about “daring to follow your heart through thick and thin”.
Publisher Mills & Boon, a romance brand of British publisher Harlequin UK, said the story is based on Ferguson’s ancestor, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott, who fled an arranged marriage and “the boundaries of polite society “.
