Editor’s Note: The Hustler reported on November 24 that Sarah Fuller, the Vanderbilt Soccer goalkeeper, trained with the soccer team as a kicker. Vanderbilt’s athleticism did not confirm Fuller’s presence with the football team until an announcement accompanied his November 27 tweet.

Fuller, a senior goaltender from Wylie, Texas, made her first start for the football team against South Carolina on October 11, 2020 and held the starting position thanks to the SEC Commodores tournament title on November 2. . 24 Fuller practiced with the football team as a kicker, but Vanderbilt’s athleticism has not confirmed his involvement.

While Vanderbilt is just 3-7 on field goals this season, multiple sources told The Hustler on Nov. 24 that it wasn’t a performance-based decision. Instead, they said the Commodores had many COVID-19 quarantine specialists, which led to the addition of Fuller.

Appearing on ESPN 102.5 The Game, football head coach Derek Mason said on November 24 that Fuller was an “option” at the kicker. Later that afternoon, on an SEC coaching conference call, he may have confirmed that Fuller was involved in football-related activities.

“I brought her out, I got to see what she can do with a soccer ball,” Mason said, by The Athletic’s Peter Baugh. “She’s really good with a soccer ball, she also looks very good with a soccer ball.”

If Fuller plays on Saturday, she would become the first woman to record a snap in a Power Five game.

The Vanderbilt Commodores (0-7) travel to Columbia, Missouri to take on the Missouri Tigers (3-3) on Saturday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. CST on SEC Network.
