Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called on Americans to wear masks on Wednesday while revealing that she and some of her family recently tested positive for COVID-19.
“Through it all, I see wearing this bulky mask indoors in a crowd not only allows the new luxury of being incognito, but I hope it’s better than doing nothing to slow the spread.” Palin said in a statement to People magazine.
Palin said his battle with the virus “may be one of the ways that anyone can get this.” The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate has five children with her ex-husband, Todd Palin.

The former governor said she first worried after one of her daughters lost her sense of taste and smell and later tested positive. Soon after, Palin noticed that her 12-year-old son, Trig, appeared to be showing symptoms.
“I then observed symptoms in my son Trig, who is oddly the most enthusiastic mask wearer, and after our numerous negative tests over the year, he tested positive,” Palin said. “Children with special needs are vulnerable to the ramifications of COVID [Trig was born with Down syndrome], so with a high fever, she was prescribed azithromycin, which really seemed to help, and I increased the amounts of the vitamins I put in her puree. “
Despite being quarantined with her son, Palin said she initially tested negative for COVID-19. But symptoms such as loss of taste and smell, fever, and muscle pain soon appeared. She said it was “no doubt” that she had the virus.
“I strongly encourage everyone to use common sense to avoid spreading this virus and all the other viruses,” Palin added. “There are more viruses than stars in the sky, which means that we will never avoid all sources of disease or danger … But be vigilant, do not be afraid, and I advise you to redefine prioritizing personal time and resources to ensure you have as healthy a lifestyle as you can create, so when viruses strike you at least have armor to fight it off. “

Palin did not say exactly when his family tested positive for the virus. Fox News’ request for further comment was not immediately returned.
President Biden instituted a mask tenure on federal lands when he entered the White House last January. Mask requirements remain in place in most states, although some, including Arkansas and Texas, have eased restrictions as cases have declined in recent weeks.
To date, more than 150 million doses of the vaccine have been administered, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
