“If they come together and have a process, I will definitely consider any items they might come up with, because as I told you, I believe the president has ignored his oath of office,” Sasse said in a statement. interview on “CBS This Morning”.

“He swore to the American people to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. He acted against it,” Sasse said. “What he did was mean.”

Sasse in the interview covered a bit, suggesting that it might not be in America’s best interest to impeach Trump even if there had been abusive conduct given that he is not in function only for an additional 12 days.

On Thursday evening, the president reversed course amid mounting political pressure, resignations of cabinet officials and the real possibility that he could face legal danger to his actions, condemning the riot in another video.

Sasse was one of Trump’s most critical Republicans last week and is the first GOP senator to signal a clear openness to impeachment.
