She explained that the Ministry is treating HIV / AIDS as transparently as other diseases, considering it as a chronic disease, adding that it provides support and information to civil society and reinforces its role. in the elimination of the AIDS epidemic.
In the coming period, the ministry will organize AIDS prevention campaigns, she said, noting that these campaigns and efforts not only had an impact on preventing the transmission of HIV / AIDS, but also on 20 other diseases transmitted in the same way.
"We are beginning to see positive results of awareness campaigns over the past period, such as increased testing and early detection of the disease, and we expect an improvement in Kuwait's ranking by global AIDS indicators this year. "
These year-round outreach activities, focused on youth, adolescents and vulnerable people, are based on Goal 3 of the third sustainable development goal to end the global AIDS epidemic. here 2030.
In a similar statement, UNESCO Secretary-General Nadia Al-Wazzan praised the activities organized by the network of secondary schools affiliated with UNESCO on the occasion of the Day. World AIDS Day, which included exhibitions, lectures, radio speeches and contests.
