Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce stressed the importance of consumers’ response to defective product recall campaigns to ensure their safety and uphold their rights.

She explained that there are many vehicles and products that have been the subject of the recall in the past period, whose owners have not responded to the campaigns, posing a danger to them and their families, indicating that the automotive sector is the most responsive with over 1.8 million recalled cars still driving the roads daily, then household appliances with over 300,000 household appliances, then children playing with over 50,000 toys, putting our little ones in danger.

The ministry said the “recall” is a global system for goods and products that, after use, discover a manufacturing defect or defect, and are directly subject to recall processes, and require agents to repair free of charge, and it does not require the validity of the warranty to preserve and protect the rights of consumers.

It should be noted that the greatest potential risks in the event of non-response to recall campaigns lie in the occurrence of traffic accidents, fires, damage or cases of suffocation of children.

The ministry has launched 1,156 vehicle and product recall campaigns since the inception of the Defective Product Recall Center website in 2018. Consumers can check the completeness of their product or vehicle recall campaigns electronically through : reminders.
