The furthest point reaches humanity
In early 2019, on January 1, NASA's New Horizons spacecraft is expected to experience unique development, reaching the furthest point that humanity has ever known.
After flying Pluto over the New Horizon satellite in July 2015, the robot continued to operate. The space agency is now considering using the nuclear-powered probe to visit a glacial body called Ultima Thule or 2014 MU69, an object located in the Kuiper Belt, about 4 billion kilometers from the Earth.
The vehicle will fly to photograph this mysterious object, where scientists estimate that it can have a length of 20 miles and a width of 12 miles, about the size of a city. This trip will be the furthest point reached by humans until now.
Reach the dark side of the moon
China is about to be the first to land on January 3rd in the sun on the moon.
China launched its first dedicated probe on December 7th. This probe seeks to collect data on the possibility of a growth of water or plants in the moon.
A spaceship at the International Space Agency
SpaceX plans to test the launch of NASA's new Crew Dragon, designed to help transport astronauts to and from the space station and to abandon the increasingly expensive Soyuz spacecraft.
The first flight of the vehicle is scheduled for January 17 and will not be occupied this time because it is a test flight to ensure the safety and security of the systems.
