Chile has announced its intention to join the joint package between Latin America and the right to host the FIFA World Cup in 2030.
Chile will join Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay in their bid for the tournament.
The World Cup will feature 48 teams from the 2026 tournament.
The tournament will mark for the first time the 100th anniversary of the organization of Uruguay and the World Cup, a title that Uruguay has won twice in its history.
This comes a few days after a meeting at which the possibility of soliciting a joint organization for the same tournament was held between England and Ireland.

Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay have announced in 2017 their intention to jointly request the right to organize the tournament.
"Several months ago, I proposed to the Argentine, Uruguayan and Paraguayan presidents to join Chile in their joint campaign for the organization of the 2030 World Cup," said Chilean President Sebastian Pinera, on his Twitter account.
"The three presidents accepted the proposal," added Pinera.
Chile hosted the World Cup for the last time in 1962, while Brazil was the last country in South America to host the tournament in 2014.
