The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is preparing to launch the Alexandria Book Fair on March 25, until April 7, in cooperation with the Egyptian General Book Authority and the Association of Egyptian Publishers.
Mostafa El Feki, director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said that the Academy of Arab Manuscripts led by the doctor was the guest of honor of the exhibition this year, which testifies to the Appreciation of the role of the Library in the revival and dissemination of Arab heritage.
Al Feki pointed out that the exhibition brought together about fifty buildings announced by the Egyptian and Arab countries, including pavilions from four Arab countries: Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Syria and Palestine, as well as pavilions of various Arab and governmental agencies, such as the Ministry of Antiquities, the Arab Academy of Science and Technology. The National Council for Mental Health, the National Translation Center and the Palestine Consulate, as well as the Al Azbekiya Suites at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina this year.
Al-Feki revealed that many cultural activities took place on the sidelines of the exhibition within the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which serve as a cultural presence to intellectuals from Alexandria in person, to Egypt and to Arab world in a year.
Professor Mustafa El-Feky said the library wanted to find the creators of Alexandria in the program of cultural exhibition and assign them an important section. They have thus proved to be excellent on the cultural scene recently thanks to the Egyptian and international prizes obtained.
The library is interested in cultural activities such as children, women, youth, technology, arts and literature, as well as stars of youth cinema, and organizes several meetings and seminars on women on the occasion of International Women's Day.
The program offers 14 workshops for children on the theme of the exhibition days, which will be presented by Egyptian children's book stars: workshops, story writing, wood and wood painting, state love and a workshop for children with Mediterranean anemia.
The cultural program also reviews a series of free literary workshops in the fields of writing, narration, theater, literature, criticism and radio.
In a similar context, the Palestinian Consulate General in Alexandria will open its pavilion at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina at the 2019 International Book Fair on Monday, March 25, 2019.
Ambassador Hossam Al-Dabbas, Palestinian Consul General in Alexandria, said that the cultural wing was inscribing in the fruitful cultural cooperation between Egypt and Palestine, adding that the pavilion brought together introductions to Palestinian identity and works on Palestinian heritage and history.
Ambassador Hossam Al-Dabbas said the pavilion was an alerting space for the homeland of Palestine to participate in all cultural events, including the Alexandria International Book Fair.
He emphasized that the homeland of Palestine was anxious to emphasize the Palestinian identity and its heritage so that the public could see Palestinian achievements and works, because of the importance of the International Book Fair to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and looking for a pavilion for Palestine throughout the exhibition.
