The Saudi Passport Authority said on its Twitter account that the independent expatriate will face penalties, including a fine of up to 50,000 rials.

The penalties also include imprisonment for up to six months and deportation.

The dissemination of these tweets comes from the Saudi Passport Department as part of its rules and regulations awareness messages.

In a related context with regard to expatriate workers, the General Directorate of Passports revealed a week ago that domestic workers are automatically abandoned on exit and do not return after 6 months from the expiration of the validity of the visa, or by communicating via messaging and service requests via the Absher platform for electronic services 30 days after visa expiration.

She indicated that the instructions do not allow the transfer of an exit and re-entry visa to a final exit, and that the beneficiary is outside the Kingdom, according to the Saudi newspaper “Okaz”.

The instructions state for those who have left and have not promised to prevent entry for a period of 3 years, except for the former employer with a new visa, except for dependents and guides.

Saudi Jawazat said the validity period of the exit and re-entry visa is calculated from the date of the first exit. And she pointed out the possibility of canceling the absence from work report for domestic workers within 15 days from the date of the notification, through the “Tawasul” service through the Absher platform for electronic services.
