But in May, the world changed dramatically: Phil Plate said he recorded very fast changes in the power of the infrared glow of the black hole. In some cases, its brightness was 75 times higher than normal, then dropped very quickly. .
Most of the heat and light of the black hole is absorbed by a thick layer of dust and gas that surrounds the center of the galaxy. These sudden changes and changes in the behavior of the hole can therefore be a sign of awakening.
