The new YubiKey 5Ci, which was announced two months ago, includes a lightning port on one side and a USB-C port on the other.
This means that it works with the latest iOS and Mac devices, with the exception of the iPad Pro because it is not compatible with the USB-C side yet.
YubiKey 5Ci users can enhance the security of 1Password, Idaptive, LastPass, Okta, Bitwarden and Dashlane with the help of physical authentication.
The device also works with Brave Browser for iOS to secure login authentication for sites such as Twitter, GitHub, Bitbucket and 1Password.
YubiKey 5Ci for iOS devices does not currently work with other applications or browsers because application developers and browsers need support.
Yubico says it works with other developers via the Yubico development program, and that people interested in the YubiKey 5Ci key can buy it for $ 70 on the Yubico website.
The USB-C side of YubiKey works with Windows and Mac devices via the USB-C port, which is compatible with dozens of sites and services, with a list available on the Yubico website.
YubiKey 5Ci supports multiple authentication protocols including IDO2 / WebAuthn, FIDO U2F, OTP, PIV and OpenPGP.
