NASA prepares to explore the lunar moon "Europe"

NASA plans to launch a new exploration mission of 79 moons of Jupiter.

One of these 79 satellites is called Europe, slightly smaller than ours, and scientists have long believed that there are opportunities for life on its surface.

Evidence suggests that there is an ocean of water under the dense crust of the moon's ice crust, which can be tens of kilometers deep. Scientists believe that this water may contain a chemical cocktail that is conducive to life and can house a form of organism.

Europe seems to have three living conditions: water, probably chemistry, and energy in the form of tidal heating, a phenomenon caused by gravity, that is to say that gravity exists on this Moon.

All of this can help to achieve chemical reactions, but also to the movement of chemicals between rocks, surface and oceans, as well as hydrothermal vents.

The mission of NASA Europa Clipper is to create a number of comets installed in Europe, carrying cameras and equipment to measure the magnetic field of the moon.

NASA's mission will search for lakes located under the moon and will provide data on the thickness of its ice crust. The team also hopes to confirm the presence of water, previously discovered by the space probe NASA Galileo and the Hubble Space Telescope.

"We are all excited about the decision that will prompt the Europa Clipper mission to unveil the secrets of the ocean world," said Thomas Zurbuchen, director of scientific missions at NASA's headquarters in Washington. This mission should be launched in 2025.
