Algerian rapper Abderraouf Draghi gave a concert at the sports stadium "August 20" in the Algerian capital.
Thousands of rappers gathered to listen to his songs, but in front of one of the stadium's entrances Thursday night, at least five people died and about 21 others were injured by the rout.
Abderraouf Draghi, an Algerian rap star, nicknamed technically "Solking", is the owner of the song "Freedom", which spread among the protesters and became their national anthem. The song was released in March, less than a month after the start of major protests on February 22 against President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who has since resigned and then against the regime.
