Prices for steel, cement and building materials recorded price stability earlier this week, as the market moved back to normal.
Ahmed El-Zeiny, head of the building materials division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, said the prices of iron and cement building materials were stable and had not changed since the last Ramadan, stressing that the market had recorded a surplus of production which had largely contributed to the stability of consumer prices.
Zinni said in a statement for the seventh day that iron prices from the factory were between 11,000 and 11,890 per ton, while consumer prices were between 11,350 and 11,900 per ton, noting that iron prices could fall before the end of the year.
The average price per ton of cement from the factory starts at 750 pounds, while the consumer reaches 850 pounds per ton.
