NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured a dying star in the Gemini constellation called NGC 2371/2, a late-life star that resembles our sun.

At first, scientists thought that there were two planetary nebulae, one on the top right and one on the bottom left.

However, it turns out that the two bodies are the material that makes up the star, which emits and throws in space when it dies, the bright spot in the center of the image matches the remains of the star.

The remains of the star are illuminated by the active radiation that raises the surrounding gas. NASA has revealed on its website that the image will continue to change over the next several thousand years, until the body cools and darkens and becomes a white dwarf.
