The Emir of Qatar intervenes in the Neymar case
Qatar's Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has personally intervened to prevent the transfer of the star of Paris Saint-Germain Neymar, who wants to leave the Qatari club just two years after his departure, announced Monday the French press.
Neymar was linked to a move to Barcelona, the club that he played in his favor until the summer of 2017 before settling in Paris St Germain for the value of the break from his 222 million euro contract, which made him the most expensive player in the world.
According to Le Monde, the Qatari Emir ordered Nasser Al Khulaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian sports director Leonardo, to reject any offer to reach the club's offices regarding Neymar and to end his transfer outside the walls of the club.
Le Monde said that the Emir of Qatar was considering accepting the transfer of Neymar as a concession of the Paris Saint-Germain club and would place it in the category of large clubs and would not be an attractive destination for football stars in the world, as well as would prove that the club was weaker than the stars, so it was accepted at the will of Neymar.
