IPad Pro tablets could adopt Time Of Flight cameras in 2020, according to a new report

As for iPad tablets, their camera has not gained such popularity. Of course, it takes great pictures but its quality remains low compared to that of the iPhone. However, according to a new report from The Elec, Apple seems to want to change that with the next iPads next year.

According to the new report, Apple will apparently be using Time Of Flight cameras on the next iPads in 2020. If you do not know, Time Of Flight cameras are used to measure the distance between the sensor and the actual elements, or rather to detect informations. Depth Time Of Flight cameras are currently used for augmented reality applications because they help to improve scalability and perspective.

If you wonder why this sounds familiar, it's because the famous Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted that the next iPhones would come in 2020 with a similar camera. However, since the upgrade of the iPad Pro is scheduled for early 2020, it is possible that the Time Of Flight camera reaches the iPad Pro before the iPhone.

IPad tablets are generally marketed by Apple as productive devices where users can draw, edit photos, write documents, and more. However, the addition of the Time Of Flight camera means that iPads can be used in the industry as well as for 3D mapping, to name a few.
