The Saudi Press Association held a press conference Tuesday to announce the details of the Saudi Media Forum and the Saudi Media Premiere at the Saudi Press Commission headquarters in Riyadh. The Saudis are chairman of the Saudi Media Forum and Award.
At the conference, the Saudi Media Award system was announced.
Article 1 – Name of the prize:
The prize is called the Saudi Media Award.
Article 2 – Price Objectives:
Aimed at achieving the following objectives:
1- Encourage the work of professional and creative media in the Saudi media or have representation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2. Contribute to the promotion of freedom of opinion in society.
3 – Recognition of Saudi personalities who have contributed to the march of the Saudi media and strengthened their presence at the local and global levels.
Article 3: Award
1. The prize is awarded each year to professional media works, to which price conditions apply, whether by individuals or institutions.
Distinguished works are nominated for the prize by individuals or institutions.
Article 4 – Branches of attribution:
The prize is awarded in six branches and each branch is composed of several specialized areas:
– Press on.
– visual production.
– Audio production.
– Informative application.
– Leading media.
– Media personality of the year.
Article 5 – General conditions of the prize:
To accept works submitted or proposed for the prize, the following conditions must be met:
1. Be new and innovative.
2 – Contribute to the promotion and development of media work and stimulate competition and creativity in this field.
3 – Compliance with the specific standards set by the Commission for each branch of the price.
Article 7 – Functions of the award committee:
The Prize Committee will perform the following tasks:
Receive all applications for the award branches and ensure the application of the statutory conditions stipulated in the terms of appointment defined for each award.
2. Selection of members of specialized arbitration committees in each branch of the award.
Submit all nominations received for the award, which are subject to the terms and conditions of the refereeing committees.
4. Adopt the recommendations of the arbitration committees and appoint the winners of the award in its various branches.
5. Prepare and organize the awards ceremony, market it and invite influential personalities from the world media industry to attend, as well as representatives of international and regional media.
Propose the necessary modifications to the allocation system and its implementing regulations.
Article 8 – Price value:
1. The Commission awards the prizes to the winners in each of the different branches of the prize, as determined by the prize regulation.
2. The winners also receive certificates of appreciation with the name of the winning work and the name of the "winners" of the prize.
Article 9: Price Financing
The award is funded by the resources of the Authority and by marketing sponsorships with government and private entities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Article X – Settlement of the award
The Board of Directors of the Authority approves the regulations for the application of the provisions of this law.
