Forces loyal to the government of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi have advanced into the southern city of Aden.
Internationally renowned government officials said the loyalist forces had regained control of the airport and were moving into other neighborhoods.
Separatist fighters took the city earlier this month.
The Hadi government has called the takeover of Aden by the south of the country a "coup d'etat".
The separatist takeover of Aden, which the government takes as a temporary capital, was the sign of a new conflict in this war-torn country.
But forces loyal to Hadi have recently regained control of southern cities and other villages.
Saudi Arabia is leading a military alliance against the Houthis, who control large areas, including the capital Sanaa, and forced Hadi to remain in exile.
