The company announced the decision in a blog published this week, a milestone since the decision to suspend the program earlier this summer.

Apple has been identified as one of many companies having collected user audio clips in order to improve the accuracy of the voice assistant. Unbeknownst to most of them, these items have been reviewed by contractors.

"We recognize that we have not fully embraced our ideals and we apologize," wrote Apple.

The company said it will resume its program later this fall, with several major changes.

In addition to unsubscribing from the default users, Apple said it would rely on its employees to manage the data flow. Previously, the company used third-party contractors to do the work.

Some of these entrepreneurs were the first to speak anonymously at the Guardian last July when the program was first announced. The declaration of fortuitous triggers was a purely technical process, and no strict procedure had been given to the handling of sensitive information.

As part of the new amendments, Apple said it would ensure that any information obtained accidentally is removed.

Among the devices of other companies, which have been found to record the voices of users: Smart Headset "Amazon" and "Alexa" and "Google Home", as well as "Facebook" via the voicemail feature.

Likewise, these devices regularly collect mostly private data, including sex information, private conversations, businesses, and even medical information.
