The draw of the first round (group stage) of the Champions League for the current season 2019/2020, which took place on Thursday in Monaco, gave rise to the following groups:
Group A: Paris St Germain, Real Madrid, Club Brugge, Galatasaray
Group B: Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Olympiakos, Belgrade Red Star, Serbia
Group C: Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, Atalanta
Group D: Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Moscow Lokomotiv
Group E: Liverpool, Naples, Salzburg, Austria and Genk.
Group F: Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Slavia Prague
Group G: Zenith St. Petersburg, Benfica, Lyon, Leipzig
Group H: Chelsea, Ajax, Valencia, Lille
According to EU regulations, teams from one country were prevented from falling together.
UEFA has also decided not to bring together any Ukrainian and Russian team because of the crisis between the two countries.
The 32 teams qualified for the group stage were divided into four levels, each group having only one team of each level.
The Champions League group stage will start on 17 and 18 September and the tournament final will be held in Istanbul on 30 May 2020.
