Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has waged wars in his films, carried out armed robberies and entered the boxing ring during his busy film career, but stated that his most difficult film to date is "Ad Astra", the latest to date an astronaut embarking on a decisive mission.
McBride leaves in search of his father, an astronaut whose role is star Tommy Lee Jones, who was lost more than a decade ago during a mission to Neptune.
The film is set in a near future where it is imagined that humans were able to establish stations to live and conduct research on the Moon and Mars. The hero's journey therefore goes through spectacular scenes of open spaces and landscapes.
"It was my most difficult and difficult film of all time," said Brad Pitt, who also co-produced the film, at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, which will be screened Thursday.
He said that the story was based on a very delicate balance. "Any snapshot or image that appears early, a piece of music or an audio commentary can easily upset the task, be excessive or clearer than necessary, and trying to maintain that balance required a sustained effort."
Ad Astra is one of the 21 films to compete this year for the Golden Lion at the 76th Venice Film Festival, which runs until September 7 and is one of the first signs of the price season.
When asked if he thought this role would give him his first Oscar for Best Actor, Brad Pitt said: "I just want the film to be screened … it's a tough film .. it includes several themes … who are we … and what is our goal … "Why do we stick to something and continue to do it?
