Sports journalist Ahmed Schubert confirmed that Al-Ahli was about to announce his new coach to succeed Martin Lasarte.
"Ahli is about to announce his new coach and the coach is no stranger to Egyptian players," wrote Schubert on his official Facebook page.
Ahli had decided to sack Lasarti after leaving Egypt in the last 16 games of the Cup by Pyramids and lost 1-0.
