On this day in space .. Pioneer 11 became the first spacecraft to visit Saturn

The history of space has many important days, including September 1, 1979, when NASA's Pioneer 11 robotic space probe became the first spacecraft to fly Saturn.

According to the American website on space, Pioneer 11 was launched in 1973 to explore the asteroid belt, Jupiter and Saturn.

It was launched directly into Jupiter, then used the gravity of Jupiter to fly over the planet and start flying towards Saturn, which lasted four years and nine months later, before reaching Saturn.

NASA sent the Saturn Rings directly about 13,000 miles above the planet's tops to determine whether it was safe for Voyager's flights to do the same for years before traveling to Saturn.

Pioneer 11 opened the way to the outer rings of Saturn, where no spacecraft had ever been there, which almost hit a small moon on the way.

The Pioneer 11 satellite has discovered several satellites, as well as a new ring and the first evidence of a magnetic field around Saturn, highlighting the importance of travel for the space world in general and for Saturn in particular.
