The Qatari Red Crescent and its Kuwaiti counterpart have completed the second phase of the project of sheltering and empowering Syrian orphan families in Gaziantep city in southern Turkey.

The Qatari Red Crescent said in a statement that it has completed the second phase of the project, which lasted about eight months, and that included the operation of two accommodation centers, "initiative" and "highness" in the city of Gaziantep.

He added that the project included "the operation of the Baram al-Sham kindergarten and the establishment of vocational training activities in these institutions, as well as the provision of transportation and quantities of equipment. Emergency, food and non-food items necessary for life ".

"The project aims to help the poorest Syrian families who have lost their breadwinners because of the events in Syria, by covering the rental costs of two large residential buildings housing 42 Syrian families in order to lighten the financial burden. imposed on them, "the statement said.

He also pointed out that the project provided medical, social, educational and recreational care to alleviate the stress and trauma suffered by 137 children and women as a result of war conditions.

The project wanted to "integrate them into society through a series of study activities, psychological support sessions and economic empowerment by organizing vocational training courses for 53 orphans and girls".

Memory workshops of the Holy Quran have been opened according to specific programs to support the legitimate education of orphans and their mothers, as part of the project.

Early education was also provided to 110 orphans aged 4 to 6, to enable them to enroll in mainstream schools by the beginning of the new school year, the statement said.

Mothers were trained in the appropriate trades, according to their wishes, by experienced trainers, the statement said.

Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, executive director of the international aid and development sector of the Qatari Red Crescent, said: "the pursuit of quality projects for the benefit of Syrians, by strong will to defend the weakest".
