The World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday commented on the destruction of hospitals in Idlib province by Russian warplanes supporting the Assad army during its military campaign.

"Seven health facilities were targeted in Idlib between August 28 and 30," the group said in a statement. He claimed to have checked four attacks while working to check three.

Targeted health facilities include four hospitals and two primary health care centers, while a health care center was evacuated prior to a military attack during this period.

The organization said: These attacks are taking place at a time when hostilities are multiplying in and around Idlib province, significantly highlighting the growing humanitarian needs in Syria.

The World Health Organization has also expressed concern over the displacement of more than 130,000 people from the countryside of northern Hama and southern Idlib in the month of August alone.

The organization estimates that 13.7 million people need health care in Syria, including more than four million in the north-west.

Russia faces international accusations of bombing hospitals and medical centers during the recent military campaign against Idlib in northwestern Syria.
