WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Scientists spotted Monday a magnetic storm that hit Earth and confirmed that it was the second most powerful storm to hit the planet since the beginning of the year.
Scientists at the Sun's Astronomical X-ray Laboratory, affiliated with the Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, have suffered magnetic storms, due to the presence of several perturbations in the solar plasma, according to the Russian "Sputnik" site.
The storm, monitored by scientists on a five-point scale, is classified as Level I and may cause small fluctuations in energy systems, as well as its ability to have a minor impact on the space system control system.
Solar storms erupted as a result of explosions on the surface of the sun, during which energy is released in the twisted magnetic fields of the sun, and then emerges very quickly from the sun.
