The International Federation of History and Statistics of Football (IFFHS) today unveiled the first phase of the list of the best football legends in the world.
The International Federation has posted players aged 1 to 48 on its website and in the coming days will review the rest of the players from 49 to 100 years old.
The first list included five Arab players, namely Egyptians Mohamed Abu Trika, Mahmoud Al Khatib, Algerian Rabah Madjer, Kuwaiti Jassim Yacoub Sultan Al Basara and Saudi Majid Abdullah.
The list of 48 players was as follows:
From Brazil: Pelé, Zico, Garica, Ronaldo
– From Germany: Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller and Lothar Matthias
– From the Netherlands: Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten and Ruud Juliet On.
– From England: Bobby, David Beckham, Stanley Matthews.
– From Argentina: Diego Maradona, Alfredo Stefano di Stefano.
– From China: Hao Haedong and Sun Jihai.
– Egypt: Mahmoud Khatib and Mohammed Abu Trika.
