The 108-megapixel camera will soon head to four Xiaomi phones

Last month, Samsung announced a new 108-megapixel smartphone camera sensor called the Samsung 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX. Xiaomi will be the first company to use this sensor in its smartphones, and there are many rumors that we will see this sensor for the first time in the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 camera phone when it arrives in October.

However, the developers of the XDA Developers forum discovered that the Chinese company was currently working on four different smartphones, all of which will have a 108-megapixel rear camera. These four smartphones bear the symbolic names Tucana, Draco, Umi and CMI and were discovered when decoding the source code of MIUI's MI Gallery application.

This application supports the display of 108 megapixel photos in full resolution, but this concerns these four devices. Hence the fact that these four phones will use Samsung's Samsung HMPX 108 ISOCELL Bright sensor and will be able to take 108 megapixel photos if switching to manual mode and turning it on does not bother you. Since the Samsung 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor supports Tetracell technology, it often captures images by combining four pixels to form a single large 1.6 μm pixel in 27 megapixel clear images.

It should be noted that the same source had explained to us in the past that Xiaomi would launch two phones with front cameras, which proved true after the launch of the phones Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.
