Samsung will launch Galaxy Fold tomorrow in Korea

The South Korean Samsung today announced that its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold (Galaxy Fold), would be available in South Korea as of September 6, with 5G connections.

The largest smartphone seller in the world: the price of the device is 2.388 billion won (1980 dollars).

The highly anticipated phone was originally scheduled to hit the US market in April, but its release has been delayed due to detected screening defects in samples sent to reviewers.

Samsung has announced that it will offer 5G and LTE versions of the Galaxy Fold in some countries, including Britain, France, Germany and the United States, without specifying release dates.

The South Korean company has promised to enter a new era of folding devices as part of its efforts to introduce innovation to the saturated smartphone market.

The company announced in July that it would be ready to sell Galaxy Fold in September after making some changes, including hinge reinforcement, which allowed the first reviewers to find a problem.

Samsung will provide a program to users of Galaxy Fold, in which the company will cover 70% of the cost of repairing the screen once a year, according to the release.

"Consumers have reacted positively to larger displays and the revolutionary Galaxy Fold form factor provides a larger screen without sacrificing portability," said DJ Koh, general manager of information technology and mobile communications at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung is also introducing a new product called the Galaxy Fold Premier service, which provides direct access to the company's experts, who can provide personalized advice and support over the phone, at any time of the day, with an optional individual session.

SK Telecom, South Korea's largest mobile operator in terms of subscribers, said it expects Galaxy Fold to increase sales of its 5G subscribers because it offers discounts and insurance plans for his high-priced foldable phone.
