Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle, fell into disarray after more than 1,250 people signed a petition demanding that they be stripped of the title of Duke and Duchess.
The Brighton City Council in Sussex, England, will discuss a petition next month asking for more than 1,700 people to be dumped by the royal couple as Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The council agreed to discuss the petition after it exceeded the signatures of 1,250 people and, according to the law, each petition with more than 1,250 signatures must be discussed.
The petition states in particular: "We are asking the Brenton Council not to designate these people with these titles, which we consider unjust and undemocratic."
"These titles are a symbol of the oppression of the public by the rich," he added.
