Nikki Minaj wins 6 American Music Awards
Rapper Nikki Minaj surprised her audience by announcing her retirement, saying that she wanted to focus on "building a family".
"I decided to retire and start a family," she wrote on her Twitter account, followed by about 20 million people.
The surprise announcement reinforced rumors that she was pregnant for months. Minaj said in June that she was planning to marry her boyfriend Kenneth Beatty.
In August, she changed her name on Twitter to become Mrs. Betty, but did not say if she was married.
Minaj began singing 10 years ago when she sang her album "Pink Friday" and won six American music awards.
In 2016, the famous singer appeared in the list of the 100 most influential personalities in the world of Time magazine.
Minaj sparked many reactions among users of Arab networking sites when she ended her Saudi-based vocal alliance in July, declaring her support for the rights of women and gays.
