Huawei unveiled its new Kirin 990 5G processor at the annual IFA 2019 Berlin, where the company announced the arrival of the new processor supporting 5G networks for mobile services.
At its press conference, the company said its new processor will present many benefits that will increase the performance of smartphones that will work in the coming period, offering 8 cores, including two for high performance at a frequency of 2.86 GHz and two for average performance at a frequency of 2.36 GHz and 4 cores for low performance at a frequency of 1.95. With a $ 10.3 billion processor sensor and a 16-core Mali G76 graphics processor, it will deliver exceptional gaming performance and save 15% of on-line consumption with online video games.
The company is focused on supporting its new processor for 5G, explaining that the download speed from the Internet would reach 2.3 Gbps and that the rate of transmission of information from the phone to the network would reach a maximum of 1.25 Mbps.
It should be noted that the new Huawei processor does not support millimeter-millimeter radio-wave technology, but complies with the basic standards of fifth-generation technologies, making it slightly less efficient and slower than modem chipsets compatible with radio waves, such as the Qualcomm X55 modem chip where it reaches download rate with it at 7 Gbps.
The new processor also features other features, such as a dual image processing unit to provide a professional level of noise ratio management in the material, as well as a unity of three-core artificial intelligence neural processing, two of which for high performance and a heart for low-energy tasks.
Huawei has not revealed the first phones that will work with the new processor, but it should work from Mate 30 on September 19th.
