Paradoxically, despite their disruption 15 years ago, Friends continues to attract new viewers, some of whom were born after the show began.
Dominique Karisti, professor of communication at Pal State University, in Indiana, explains that Friends is one of the few series to have a "cumulative" audience, to which viewers, commentators viewers and subscribers to Netflix.
The program is thus an exceptional case on the current television scene and a cultural reference shared by several generations, before the audience of the television company is fragmented.
"I'm recognized in many places," said Maggie Wheeler, who plays Janice's voice. "Today, I see children of 12 or 13 years getting acquainted with me, which is impressive."
The secret of the success of the series is due to several factors, despite some criticisms concerning the lack of diversity of its representatives or certain phrases that are no longer appropriate at the moment.
The success of the comedies continues more than the drama in the long run, says Stephen Engel, who has worked on several successful series.
"When an episode of CSI is reviewed, the audience knows who the killer is, but the humorous series can be viewed multiple times and laugh again."
Michael Lambick, who has directed 24 episodes of Friends, explains that the secret is that the public is left with action figures. "There is writing, acting and production, but you never know when this meeting will take place – it's a miracle."
"The six main actors" had 30 to 35 failures (as part of other series) before meeting each other and the enchanting harmony occurred, he said.
"There were six young people who care about each other and respect each other, they all worked very hard."
He says that with the beginning of the second season and turn them into stars "do not cheat and keep working hard."
